Menswear Monday: This is THE Color

Have you ever had a unique piece in your closet? Whether it’s shoes or maybe a shirt that was in a color you couldn’t find a match to? I think most of us have been through this at some point in our lives. Letarius found a fly pair of shoes in one unique color.

He found this pair at Journey’s (I was honestly caught off guard that these were found there). You can find them here too Journey’s

Anyways, as you can see the color is definitely unique with maroon and teal, so finding the perfect outfit to go with them was crucial. Luckily, Letarius had some great pieces already in his closet from our faves at City Royals . Who can resist a suede T (the hot fabric of the summer) and ripped denim.

And definitely accessorize the maroon with browns, it’s a simple way to pair a bold color with accessories. The last thing you want to do is have a bold color as well as bold accessories (it would be too busy).

Do these denim shorts look familiar? They were paired with a green tank last week (the link is below in our Recent Features).

You can rock this look for a day out with the guys or casual date with your girl. It’s perfect for the warm (I use that term loosely) days in AZ. Also, grab your go bag (peep the shoulder bag Letarius has) and head off to a weekend trip to escape the heat. For example happy hour, bowling, quick bite to eat, movies, even a casual date to get ice cream this look will work.

To keep it simple stay with the same metals when it comes to your watch and necklace. Gold on Gold

Letarius Says:

Now that we have places to wear the outfit how do you make it your own? I am a shoe guy so to add to the look I found a pair of Reebok Classics to go with the look. I was lucky enough to come across a pair that matched the shirt well. If I did not have these I would have worn Chuck Taylor’s with this look, most likely white. Another way to personalize this look is through accessories.

The simplicity of the shirt allows for a number of accessories options. Just try not to over do it. I always wear a watch so I would add a necklace or bracelet but not both. If you’re not a fan of watches a necklace and bracelet work as a pair or separately.

Make sure to stay tuned next week for a casual look you can wear from this office to happy hour and stay cool!
