Menswear Monday: Summer Tank

Last week we talked about keep cool this summer, focusing on swimwear. Unfortunately we cannot walk around is swimsuits all summer. This week’s look is one of my fun in the sun go to. This look is comfortable but also breaths well, which we all know is very important during these hot summers.

With my personal style I tend to stay away from cotton graphic tank tops. I prefer a simpler look. The suede hunter green take top is a great example of my style. I paired the tank top with a pair of denim shorts with flair. Added to the list of items I stay away from are cargo shorts. I feel like every guy is wearing the same thing at times.  One thing I do want to warn the fellas on is putting together an outfit that is too busy (excessive colors, patterns, pockets etc).

An example of this that I see often is a graphic t or tank top with plaid. I think it’s safe to say plaid is making its way out. I always try to have balance in the outfits that I put together. Now because of the distressed shorts and the absence of sleeves this is a day look good for festivals, sporting events, happy hour, and things of that nature. The look would work if attending a festival at night as well.

Now as my style is different from others just follow a few pointers when choosing an outfit. Make sure it is comfortable and will hold up during daytime activities. Last but not least do not have a busy outfit.

Who can resist a guy who gives finger guns?

I purchased the Summer tank (available in additional colors) and the shorts at City Royals. The shorts are already sold out, but they have plenty of other great short styles available in store. All photos taken by Belair Photography
